I have it on as a YouTube tab in the background at the moment and it's OK

Trust is the key ingredient in a relationship; to bring someone into trust might describe that; prior to such a relationship a person might experience themself as little more than a 'man form'

But it does look a bit like cut-up technique - lyrics reworked in a random fashion ...

This seems to be a plausible explanation. The text is from a Built to Spill song but was actually written by their late friend (he wrote poetry, I think).
