Hi everybody,
What is the meaning of "He 'd left that post to radio in air support to allow his men to retreat safely." in the following context:
He 'd killed at least ten enemy soldiers.Then he'd manned a machine -gun nest to hold back North Vietnamese while mortar and rifle rounds hit all around him.He'd left that post to radio in air support to allow.......
