Hello,

1. India occupies an important strategic position
in South Asia.

What is the meaning of "strategic" here?The word "important " is already there.

Could any one here explain it to me?

In a military context, "strategic" can mean simply "related to strategy". If the writer meant economically or something like that, I would agree that "important" is redundant.
