Vocabulary

meaning

Hi
Please help me with this.
This is a bit from the play Villa for Sale by Sacha Guitry
context: Juliette who is hard pressed for money wants to sell her villa. Her maid besides working under her Juliette wants to make use of an acting engagement that comes her way. That is not mentioned here.
Here Juilette wants to show to a prospective buyer that she is not too desperate in selling her property.
My question: What is the relevance of the portion in bold here?
Juliette: Thank you! (The bell rings.) I am going upstairs for a moment. If that is the lady, tell her I will not be long. It won't do to give her the impression that I am waiting for her.
Maid: Very good, Madame. (Exit JULIETTE, as she runs off to open the front door.) Oh, if I could become a Greta Garbo! Why can't I? Oh!

Oh, if I could become a Greta Garbo! = I wish I could become a famous actress. The rest you will have to figure out from context; what you have given us does not explain Juliette's distress.
