Meaning

Can you go to bat for me?

Take a look at this sentence.
"I prefer not to have drunk it too much this morning."
In this sentence drinking happened, but I'm curious.
Is he saying that he should have not drunk it too much? or Is he proud of himself for not having drunk it too much?

'Drunk it too much' is wrong grammar. I suppose that this is what is meant:

I wish I hadn't drunk so much this morning.

This is saying he thinks he should not have done so.
