Hi
Please help me with this.
These lines are from a story about an old man and his daughter. These lines are indicative of the time and weather as this old man is walking to a post office.
."..the cold used sleep to have in its sway everyone even as a false friend lulls his chosen enemy with his caressing smiles."
My question: Is caressing used in a sarcastic way here?
