Meaning

Hi

There are no facts, only interpretations.
I don't know if I have realized the in-depth meaning of this quote / saying, but this question has been ringing in my mind for quite sometime now. I finally decided to post it here.

How is it that Nietzsche says there are no facts, when there are so many?
Also, is this a quote or a saying or something else?

Please help me out.

It is a quote, though so simple that others could have said it before. This means that there are many possible conceptual schemes, or perspectives in which judgment of truth or value can be made.

  • This is often taken to imply that no way of seeing the world can be taken as definitively "true", but does not necessarily entail that all perspectives are equally valid.
  • Perspectivism rejects objective metaphysics as impossible, and claims that no objective evaluations can transcend cultural formations or subjective designations.
