Meaning

Dear Teachers,

I spoke with Jon and explained the situation While he was understandably concerned, he understood the problems we're having (even had sensed some of them himself from discussions he'd had with individual team members) and responded as well as could have been expected--with understanding and a "ok, let's see how this goes" attitude.

Could you please paraphrase the meaning of this paragraph? "ok, let's see how this goes" attitude"--Is it positive or negative attitude, according to the speaker?

“ok, let's see how this goes" attitude => OK. Let’s try something and see how it turns out. Or OK. Let’s not shoot the idea down. Let’s give it a shot.

The attitude is positive since Jon is sympathetic to the problems encountered by the group, and he is willing to adopt a wait and see attitude on approaches
