That is the job of the media, to hold you accountable, but this isn't about the media, it's about the American people, many of whom voted for you because of what you said during the campaign, and they have a right to know which of those things you meant and which you didn't.
Apparently, as you made clear Monday, you didn't mean what you said about Hillary Clinton. So what else didn't you mean?
Does 'didn't mean what you said about Hillary Clinton' mean that what he said about Hillary Clinton was not necessarily 100% true or he was not 100% sure about that, or he didn't think so at all even if he said that?

The meaning of " - - didn't mean what you said - - -" depends on what you said. Does this refer to some specific comment? - everything he said about her? Without meaning to be partisan, this is really a cheap shot. It's a lawyer's trick. It's the media [who are] dissing the American people by insincere tactics like this.
