meal in the garden

What do you call a meal in the garden? Imagine a big family sitting at a long table in the garden having lunch in the sun.

Thanks.

They are dining al fesco . Usually a "picnic" would be somewhere else besides their own yard -- a park, the beach, etc.

I don';t think the meal is called anything.

The family are eating outside/al fresco.
The meal could be breakfast/lunch/dinner.
