Me or my doing

Hi,

" I think that my cleaning up his room did nothing for the lack of space he has to put up with."

"I think that me cleaning up his room did nothing for the lack of space he has to put up with."

I know that 'my' is more correct, but I was wondering which one you'd be more likely to use in a conversation.

Thank you.

Use "my". I would. You do hear "me", more and more as literacy falls victim to the general dumbing down in the schools, but whose ear would you rather offend?

Ann225I know that 'my' is more correct,

Not always. It's very formal and excessive in general.

Would be used in general, informal situations.
