me and I as subjects

My teacher said today: Me or I is only a subject if a noun or pronoun is in front of it.

Can you help me understand? Can you give me examples.

Thank you

I is a subject. Me is an object. Perhaps you can ask your teacher for some examples, because what he or she said makes no sense to me without context.
