my lecturer recently asked me bout Mcd tagline whether it's right or not....

"I'M LOVING IT"...

is there any explanation why the sentence is wrong???

Isn't there some rapidly disappearing "rule" against using "love" in the progressive? Something about stative verbs?

I think khoff is right - it is to do with stative verbs. This is a group of verbs that have their own rules. One rule is that you cannot use the progressive present..

- I am knowing French quite well now [NO!]

[This sentence will be taken badly by English speakers]

However, some aspects of the stative rules have been falling away for a while..
