Maybe with will and be going to

Hi,

Can I use Maybe I'll buy this stereo. (Is this used for a dare or taunt? Or a thought still under consideration? Or both?)

and

Maybe I'm going to buy this stereo. (this just doesn't sound right to me and I couldn't think of a case where I will say something like this)

Thx in advance.

it's better to say: "I may buy this stereo" instead if "maybe I'll buy this stereo" "I'll probably buy this stereo" instead of "Maybe I'm going to buy this stereo" because "will" is used for future tense in situations that you're not sure it's gonna happen

Hi. The second one is also possible. It means that you have already made the decision to buy or not buying it but your listener is not aware of your decision. The going to reflect your premediated decision and maybe applies for your listener.

Here is the situation;

A. Why is he looking at that stereo? he doesn't want to buy it.

B. How do you know? Maybe he is going to b

So basically with be going to, one probably won't use something like probably, maybe, may, think... because they contradict the usage of be going to. Right?

How about talking about other people.

He is probably going to buy that stereo.

I think he is going to buy that stereo.

Maybe he is going to buy that stereo. (?not sure)

I think I'll buy a new stereo.

I think I'm going to buy a new stereo.

With I think, will is the better choice, right? Since I am not sure what I am going to do yet.

I think he'll buy a new stereo.

I think he's going to buy a new stereo.

How about the second pair? Assuming I haven't heard about his plans, just knowing his habi

Hi. If you haven't made up your mind about buying the stereo, will should be used.

You can use the combination of going to and maybe or I think in sarcastic way.

As for the second one, both forms are possible depending on what you intend to convey.

I think he'll buy a new stereo. this is a prediction about what he will do.

You can use will for pred

My title is "maybe with will and be going to"

Yes, may and might do sound better. However, I can't use will or be going to with may and might.
