Maybe vs may be

I know that maybe is an adverb and may be is a modal followed by infinitive. However, I am not sure if they have the very same meaning. For, example:

I maybe am not good enough to pass the test. / I may be not good enough to pass the test.

We maybe aren't able to do that. / We may be not able to do that.

Can you make that clear for me, please?

Maybe they don't know. = They may/might not know.
