I would like to know what is a "eve-of-conference-speech interviews"...Thank you!

The eve of anything is the day before, as in New Year's Eve. Apparently someone gave a speech the day before the conference, so it is the eve-of-conference-speech. We can't tell here for sure, but it is very possible that the interviews happened some time between the speech and the conference.
