Maybe

Namaste,

In some cases I find that i have to use two maybes.

Maybe he was disoriented, or maybe he had suffered a stroke.

First of all, is the above grammatically correct?

Second, Is it possible to rewrite so we can avoid two maybes?

Regards,
Gita

Yes. Maybe he was disoriented or had suffered a stroke.

Nevertheless, I don't see the rewrite as an improvement.
