Does modern technology make life more convenient or was life better when technology was simpler ?

Think for a moment how your life would be like without technology. Imagine that you wake up one day and you find yourself back in 13th century, having no cell phone, laptop, electricity or even a car. Now you know how different everything would be if you were to live in the 13th century. Life now has become more convenient, easier and safer than it ever has been because of technology.
Technology's main purpose is to make tasks simpler and easier for humans to perform such as washing machine and dishwasher which makes household tasks less bothersome. Another important technology today is computers and other communication devices like mobile phones and iPads which make communication between distal areas very accessible. Also, we now have urban transportation which makes commuting much faster and easier with less traffic.
We can’t write about modern technology without referring to its disadvantages. Unfortunately, development of modern technology carries with it some downsides. People are getting more estranged. Families do not communicate as much as they used to. Younger generation spend too much time on Internet, playing games, watching television, sending messages. Nevertheless, I believe it is all depends on how we do we use this technology. We can avoid its bad effects by using this bless in a good sense and manner. If we do, we can get the maximum benefit out of the modern technology.
In conclusion, technology is helping us breathe easier and live smarter. It is changing our lives, but it can’t and will not change what is fundamental to the human beings. It will never change the way we are, or how we feel.
