May (prove to) be very useful

There are different systems of measures. Most scientists now use the International System of measures, with meters for length, kilograms for mass, and seconds for time. If the measures in your experiment, show other units, appropriate convertion tables for different system may prove to be very useful.

HI,

Is it right to understand the bolded part in the above as "proper convertion tables (suitable) for different systems may turn out to be very useful?" Thanks.
