May I kindly request/I kindly request

Hi

Please give your comments on this.

May I kindly request you to take your seat on the stage?

I kindly request you to take your seat on the stage.

Context: The compere of the program is making this request to the chief Guest.

Is the first sentence commonly used by native speakers?

Is the second sentence fine in the context? (Is it seen less respectable than the first?)

vsuresh May I kindly This use of "kindly" is common in Indian English but, not so outside that. It's excessively formal outside Indian English.

No, but you're not going to be using it for an ordinary occasion, so that doesn't matter. It's fine for the situation.

It's all right, but a bit less elegant.
