mathematical puzzle
4 people want to cross a dark bridge(with no lights).Each one could pass to the next side alone or with another one maximum.They have a lantern that can burn for 17 seconds and turn off forever.One of them passes in 10 seconds,the other in 5 seconds,the third in 2 seconds and the last in 1 second.

Ah ,i think i know where you are coming from now. The best way to explain would be to call the four people A,B,C,and D
A can cross in 1 second. B can cross in 2 seconds. C can cross in 5 seconds and D can cross in 10 seconds.
The lantern can only burn for 17 seconds, so the obvious solution would at first seem to get the fastest person
