math-speak question

Hi,

There is a characteristic named SEP (spherical error probable) in math.
I understand "spherical" and "probable" are both the adjectives modifying the noun "error" in this word combination?

Wouldn't it be more logical/natural to put both adjectives BEFORE the noun?
Can't figure out why spherical error probable, not probable spherical error has become common in math English :-)
Your help would be appreciated
