I have 3 beakers - a ten oz full of h2o then an empty beaker that is 7 oz and another empty beaker that is 3 oz - I need to pour the contents entirely into each beaker until I end up with exactly 5 oz - how can I solve this?

It can be ounce (oz). it's a very small unit.

Step1

Pour the water from 10oz container into 7oz and 3oz.

Pour the water from the 7oz container into 10oz container and that of the 3oz container into the 7oz container. Now the 10oz container contains 7oz of water and the 7oz container contains 3oz of water

Pour the water of the 10oz container into the 3oz container. Now the 10oz container contains 4oz of water and the 3oz container contains 3oz of water.

Pour the water from the 3oz container into the 7oz container. The 7oz container contains 6oz of water.

Pour the water from the 10oz container into the 3oz container. Now the 10oz container contains 1oz of water and the 3oz container contains 3oz of water.

Pour the water from the 3oz container into the 7oz container. The 7oz container now contains 7oz water. The three Oz container contains 1oz water.

Pour the water from the 7oz container into the 10oz container and that of the 3oz container into the 7oz container. Now 10oz container contains 8oz of water, 7oz container contains 2oz of water and 3oz container is empty.
