I have used a textbook for about 10 years: Whaddaya say? by Nina Weinstein. It helps students recognize typical speech patterns and common reductions that Americans use, such as the title phrase "What do you say - whaddaya say" or "for - fer", "your - yer", et al. As far as I know, it hasn't been updated to CD, and I just can't use the casette tapes now that I've gone digital. Do any of you have good materials to recommend?

It has been updated, actually. Amazon seems to be out of stock though. Bummer.

But I'm pretty sure you can take the cassette to someone who does video editing; they are bound to have something that can convert the tape to a digital file.
A friend of mine once did that for me from an audio-cassette book- turned it into an mp3.
