Material vs a physical object

Hi,

Can I say the difference between the two stones below as material vs a physical object?

1. The wall was of concrete, forced with stone.

2. He threw a stone at the dog.

Does 'material vs a physical object' sound natural?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Yes, that seems reasonable, but what does 'forced with' mean? Do you mean 'reinforced with'?

Yes, sounds like that. I quoted it from my textbook and did not notice it was wrong!

Thank you!

Yes, but I usually abbreviate this as "substance vs object".
