Vocabulary

material

Hi,

Please rephrase, if you can, the word so that it can be easily understood.

The discussion questions in this book provide material for an entire unit on world religions.

What does the 'material' entail? text? books? articles? if not any of them, then what?

How can I distinguish between 'material' and 'materials'?

Top answer

Material here means resource information. Presumably it is not just the discussion questions, but the discussions that follow the questions: when answered fully, they will provide enough information to write the unit on religions.
