Master cover letter
Hi. Could you please help wit this cover letter i'm trying to write. Thank you verry much!
Dear Madam/ Sir,
I would like to say that I appreciate this opportunity to provide further background information in support of my application for one of the six master grants.
As you will see in my enclosed resume, I have a bachelor degree in Computer Science obtained in February 2009. Therefore I consider that I have the necessary educational background to apply for the Master of Science in Computer Science.
Even if I work as a junior programmer for almost a year now, I see every day the variety of topics that frames-up the Industry of Information and Technology. Since my aim is to consolidate my career in this field, I would like to gain deeper theoretical and practical knowledge. I think that this master course would be a great way for me not only to learn more but also to put my present knowledge to a higher standard.
Besides my ambition to gain more knowledge related to the IT field, I also want to strengthen my German language skills. I have been learning German for a few years now and although I could describe my knowledge as conventional, I can state that I did not reach the point where I would be satisfied with myself. I think that, although the master program I am applying for does not require German language, living in a German speaking country would definitely help me improve my skills.
I could describe myself as a person with a high level of perseverance, someone who is motivated and ambitious. Furthermore, with my skills in writing and speaking English, I will not come up against any difficulties in studying scientific subjects taught in English. Moreover, because I am a very adaptable and sociable person I am sure that I would have no problems with constantly changing work environment, establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with individuals with different cultural backgrounds.
I would like to add that I am prepared to meet all the challenges I will be presented with. Also I would be very excited to live in a country like Switzerland and have the opportunity to learn from the best.
