masculine and feminine

Can we write milklady feminine of milkman?

Top answer

I think 'milkwoman' would be the equivalent. Wikipedia lists it. I see it elsewhere as 'milk woman'.

  • I think 'milkwoman' would be the equivalent.

  • I see it elsewhere as 'milk woman'.
  • Since milk delivery is becoming less likely the means of obtaining milk, it might be difficult to find one to ask her what is her preference.
  • 'milklady' is unlikely since that would prompt the use of 'milkgentleman' for the male deliverer.
