Which is right? Those are Mary´s and Jane´s books. Those are Mary and Jane´s books. (Let´s say Mary and Jane live together Emotion: smile

The rule I learnt was that if Mary and Jane jointly own the books it should be "Mary and Jane's books", whereas if they each separately own different books it should be "Mary's and Jane's books".
