Marxists in Russia

Is there a difference between:
1-Marxists in Russia believed in economic determinism.
and
2-The Marxists in Russia believed in economic determinism.

Is there a difference between:
3-Marxists in Russia proposed a new reading of Marx.
and
4-The Marxists in Russia proposed a new reading of Marx.

I don't think there is a difference between '1' and '2', but I think '3' means 'some of the Marxists in Russia' while '4' means 'all of the Marxists in Russia'.

Gratefully,
Navi.
