marry? get married?

Hello. I wrote a sentence. "More and more young people don't marry
these days." One of my friend said "get married" is right.
Another friend said "get married is better, but marry is also
ok" What do you think?

The difference is whether your view point is the event (to marry) or the state that the event causes (to be married).
