MARRIAGES SHOULD BE BASED ON ROMANTIC LOVE

Matrimony traditionally marks a significant milestone of each individual ever since ancient times. As the society has rapidly modified, public opinions differ as to whether marriages should be based on romantic love or arrangement. In my opinion, it should be purely a matter of choice and freedom, therefore outsiders should never impose their views and interfere in this issue.

First and foremost, love is definitely fundamental foundation of the long-lasting matrimonial relationship. In modern world, the divorce rate has been recently higher for years. The principal reason stated by marriage partners is the attitude and interest dissimilarity between them after a period time of marital life. Thus love can be the power helping them to resolve the insurmountable adversity in family life. Since they paired together on the basis of pure love, which means that they are probably cognizant of the trait as well as weaknesses of their spouses. Consequently, they are able to respect and tolerate their partners in any circumstances.

Another concern to consider is the fact that when people make decisions on their own marriage partners, they will show a larger tendency for responsibility. It is also asserted that people should be accountable for their own life and future. They will consciously endeavor to resolve their conflicts and differences without blames for any external conditions because that is their decision. As the result, love-based marriages are able to effectively diminish the divorce rate.

There are strong arguments against the practice of marriages for love. Opponents of the above idea might claim that marriages connected by go-betweens would be last longer because these are built based on compatible family background and life experiences of older people. This might be true on the surface, but individuals inevitably have rights to build the connubial relationship with those they love without intervention from others, even their parents or relatives. More seriously, the young and parents have a distinct outlook on spousal happiness, and a successful marriage depends on many respects, especially the marriage partners who are directly in the connection. Hence, they need to choose who to commit to in this relationship.

All things considered, it is my strong belief that people should only marry by choice because of their own future. This will lead to a completely blissful life among modern society.
