Maroon 5

Hi! For names of bands, is it always considered plural when used with the "be" verb in a sentence? Thanks, Fulvio

1. Maroon 5 are coming to Australia to do a concert.

Hello yellowstarstruck, In your example, "is" acceptable in American English, but "are" is acceptable in British English. As far as I know, in British English, band names are always treated as plural. Best wishes, Joseph
