Please help me. I'm not sure if "marks" is used in the correct context here:

The project (the project to deploy software) marks the first deployment of the software into China's facilities market.

This doesn't seem right to me. I don't see how you can deploy software into a market.


Software deployment entails installing and activating a piece of software on a computer system (so that it's available for use).
