Mark my work please
I have done my Functional Skills City and Guilds level 2 English writing exam. was hoping someone could give me a grade, because level 2 is equivalent to grade c in GCSE. Could you give me a grade please. I did put my address and theirs. there is two exams first is 24 marks and second is 26.
Write a letter of complaint to the taxi firm persuading them to reimburse you for the cost of the additional ticket.
Dear to whom it may concern
I wish to bring to your attention an incident that occurred on the 14.11.12 at 7.00 am. I had been planning a trip with my friends to Glasgow. I had my tickets bucked in advance which is when I realised I could order a much cheaper ticket, with restrictions. I had to travel on the 7.00 am train. I had contacted you via telephone and therefore would able to arrange a taxi at 6.00 am.
This is where things started drastically getting worse. Your receptionist, who answers gave an attitude which would put any customer off. But I persevered and was able to arrange a taxi after a long twenty five minutes .I felt like I was being mocked as I have a slight stuttering problem and this was not made any better when I was laughed at repeatedly. Is this really the good customer service you advertise? To make people feel depressed, sad and small?
I had then thought this was all over… but this was not the case. I waited outside, (forgetting my house keys in the process). I was waiting since 5.30 but to no avail, it was apparent that the taxi would be late. So I the fore called to wait another thirty minutes while your receptionist was “taking a break”. I was so infuriated, but managed to keep calm and ask when my taxi would arrive. I was not given a clear answer and stood in the cold, wet, windy rain for a total of an hour and a half.
After being soaked in water feeling miserable the taxi finally came. I stupidly thought I would make it on time, but your driver would insist on driving 10 miles under the speed limit, “for safety”. Even though I knew he wanted to get paid more I urged him to drive the speeding limit in exchange for a big tip.
I had not got to the place on time and was now informed I would have to pay an extra £112. So I request that I am reimbursed not only for the fact I was financially but emotional scared at the thought of ordering a taxi in the near future. As I’m sure your aware this is not the standard that your company used to have. I have been using your taxis for years. But if I’m not reimbursed I would have to take my business elsewhere.
2nd exam: Write an article for the local newspaper about the closure, asking people to join your campaign and informing them of a public meeting you have arranged.
The sturdy train station of Dudley town, West Midlands has been with us for 112 years. Stood through two world wars and is still a popular sign for locals and tourists. How can anyone possible think of shutting our pride and joy this brings to the area? Furthermore there has been no clear reason as to why it being shut down.
This will bring many problems to the area. The first is the amount of people that rely on the train services to get to work. With the state the economy is in people would have to spend more money on transport that they don’t have. This could therefore lead to job loss and deprive the area of the wealth and employment. People will be devastated, deprived which would lead to depression. When can’t let this happen. Not to our area, our homeland, could we?
Another thing to increase would be the amount of traffic. With all the cars and busses this would cause a huge effect of carbon gas emissions. As there is no train station for another 14 miles, making it impossible for people to travel with the lack of bus services. More importantly studies have shown that 50% of child deaths from cars related issues are that from area with a lot of traffic. With all the people rushing, trying not to be late. This is a really disgusting effect that will be brought upon us if we do not act now.
We have cleverly come up with an idea to combat this rising issue. This is a public meeting. Where we will discuss and inform of all the problems and possible solutions we can use. So I request anyone out there that feels as strongly as we do to join us in the battle to save our town!
