Many manufactured food and drink products contain high levels of sugar, which causes many health problems. Sugary products should be made more expensive to encourage people to consume less sugar.

my essay:

A large number of food and soft drinks now consist of high levels of sugar that leads to serious health problems. Products containing too much sugar are ought to be made more expensive so that people will not buy sugary products more often. While I do agree that production of sugar in either diets or drinks should be reduced so people will not have problems in health such as diabetes disease, I disagree that sugar should be made higher prices to make people get rid of sugar.

On the one hand, if an individual cannot avoid using too much sugar in a day, he/she may have to face some incurable diseases such as diabetes and obesity. For example, there is a growing body of research which suggests that more than 50% of people who take advantage of sugary products are patients in a hospital and they may have been cured for a long time but it turns out it will be hard for them to get over these dangerous diseases. Also, sugar contains many sweeteners provided in soft drinks especially Pepsi, Coca. For instance, many people say that they work in a factory which produces sugary drinks and one of those admitted putting a large amount of sugar in their drinks or even fast foods so that more and more products can be placed on the market and approach more people, which leads to health issues related to sugar.

On the other hand, governments should not suggest retailers push the price of sugary products so that people are hardly able to buy sweet products. But it should not be applied as no one can live without sugar in life. To illustrate this point, researches have shown that we need sugar to survive although eating a lot of sugar is not good at all. Moreover, people should not be encouraged to use less sugar, just use however they want, but not to consume too much of it. Sugar also has an important aspect in life so the price of sugar should remain stable. For example, sugar plays an important role in making many scrumptious dishes such as bun dau. Without it, the dish will taste awful so it is not vital for supermarkets to increase the price of sugary products.

In conclusion, many dangerous health problems still occur in children and the elderly due to high usage of sugar. However, it is not really necessary for markets to raise the price of sugary products to make people use less sugar.
