Mark down

Hi

A woman was in a taxi. She told the driver where he should go.

The narrator wrote:

She had chosen her destination carefully, marking it

down on one of her trips to Selbury from Walwyk.

Could it mean that she "remembered" this destination? "Mark down" to me means that maybe she had some map and marked it down, but there is no mention of a map.

Newguest Could it mean that she "remembered" this destination? Yes, it could mean that. Like you, I expected some mention of pencil and paper of some kind, but absent that, I suppose that either "remember" or "write down" is possible.
