Mari Malek, the supermodel

In the video below the supermodel at 00.40 says, 'we lived in the _____." I couldn't get the word. Would you please tell me what does she say here?

Secondly, again at 1:28 she says, "It hurts my heart to see ____ women." What she says here?

Thirdly, at 1:50 she says, "Everything that I'm doing connects." What does she mean by 'connect' here? Or I'm not getting the word correc.
