Many without any hearing at all

Hi teachers,

Hundreds of so-called spies have been brutally executed over the past few years in the tribal agencies, many without any hearing at all.

Please tell me what the last part mean?

Thank you.

I assume you mean "many without any hearing at all." ?

This means that they were not given a court trial. No one listened to their side of the story. Execution without a trial/hearing is often called a "summary execution":

Hi,

A hearing is an opportuntity for an arrested person to have his situation discussed in court, usually in public, in front of a judge.
Many of these spies had no such opportunity.

Hi Clive,

Thank you for helping me understand.

That was the problem. I understood it as someone missing, and you never hear from them.

Thanks again.
