Essay & Composition Writing

Many university students live with their families, while others live away from home because their universities are in different places. What are the advantages and disadvantages both situations ?

Some undergraduates live with their families, while others can’t live at their houses due to the locations of their campuses. The pros and cons of this issue have been debated upon. And this essay will highlight both.

There are some advantages of living far from home. Firstly, it helps them to learn how to manage their life. In other words, it's not like when they live with their families, they need to learn how to manage their living expenses as well as their study expenses properly and sometimes they also have to work part-time to earn money. Students who live away from home have to learn how to solve many problems without the help of their parents, which makes them more knowledgeable about life as well as improves their life skills than when they lived with their families, they have to learn how to prepare their meals, how to fix faucet (etc.). Secondly, unlike when they study close to home and stay with family, they can do what they want when they live away from home. For example, they can hang out with their friends without their parent's permission like before going to college, they can have a bath late without being urged by their parents and so on.

Despite the advantages above, I think the main disadvantage is having to find accommodation. Universities are often located in major urban centers, where rents are high if students have to find a room with even the basic facilities. However, there are benefits of learning to study independently in another place. They need to get used to the new environment and meet new people with many personalities and they can also have conflicts with people who don't have the same personality. In addition, because they live far from home, they are not controlled by their parents, so some students focus on other things like going out, having a love relationship and neglecting their studies.

In conclusion, there are both positive and negative impacts on university students residing distant from home.

You wrote about 340 words. The minimum is 250. You will not lose points for writing more; however, longer essays generally do not get high band scores. And there are many reasons for this.

First, the longer the essay, the more chances you have to make errors, and you will lose points for each of those errors.

Second, your writing may be repetitious and wordy. This will cost you poi

Some undergraduates live with their families, while others can’t (Do not use contractions in formal writing.) live at their houses due to the locations of their campuses. (Delete these sentences. They do nothing for your essay.) The pros and cons of this issue have been debated upon. And this essay will highlight both.
