One question that has caused a great deal of controversy over the years is how environmental issues should be tackled. While many believe that it should be addressed by international cooperation rather than each country itself, I personally think that it should be solved by both internationally and domestic.
There are reasons why each country should take steps to deal with natural problems themselves. Firstly, it is widely known that each region has its own environmental issues. This means, it is beneficial for the government to provide financial support for science research and figure out ways to tackle the issue before it gets worse and negatively affects the inhabitants. Secondly, some countries, especially those which are developing and experiencing industrialization, may release more exhaust fumes and emissions from factories and companies. Consequently, it is their own mission to enforce strict laws and control in order to protect the environment where their citizens are living in.
Nevertheless, international organizations are also responsible for the global environmental issues. Firstly, we all live on the same planet, therefore, if we do not contribute to protect and preserve the nature, our survival will also adversely be affected. Secondly, many countries that have high rate of populations living under the poverty line are struggling to address the environmental problems due to the lack of national budget. This means, the government should cooperate internationally so as to figure out the best way to deal with the problem and avoid any unnecessary waste. For example, the establishment of UNEP has gathered many countries together and create collaboration between them to solve any environmental issues.
To conclude, although each country has its own problem, it is essential for both international and domestic governments to protect the environment as a whole.
