Many lacks??!

Dear all teachers,

I have checked the dictionary today so many times but no success. Emotion: sweating

I couldn´t understand if the word "lack" can be countable or used in this context:

"If there have been any lacks in our job, I need to know"

I know that this sentence sounds really odd but I cannot really find a better option which permits me to keep the word "lack" by "lacks" I mean things that were missing or mistakes occurred during the construction of the stand.

Please help me!

Thanks

Pamela

Pamela81 Dear all teachers,I have checked the dictionary today so many times but no success. I couldn´t understand if the word "lack" can be countable or used in this context:"If there have been any lacks in our job, I need to know" No, "lack" is not used like that. "lack" is a noun but is really only used when referring to a 'lack of something': a lack of time, money, effort, thought, etc.

Dear Canadian45,

thank you, it was really of help!!

I understand very well "deficiences" in italian would be "deficienze", it is clear! Thank you for the suggestion!

I get "lack of...something" so could I say:

"Maybe our deficiences in the construction of the stabd are due to a lack of communication between us?"

Thank you
