Hello everyone,

A. Are the phrases "many cities" and "the city" appropriate in the following sentences?

1. It's thought that the remains of the city lie on below another.

2. It's thought that the remains of many cities lie on below another.

3. It's thought that many remains of the city lie on below another.

B. If they are okay, what is the difference between them?
