No. "I'm making a voyage" is correct English, but it is not a very satisfactory answer to "How are you travelling?". "By boat" seems to be the correct answer to match the picture. More specifically, it looks to be some kind of landing craft.

It is but, in civilian use, people don't generally refer to them as such. When they are used to transport civilian passengers across a stretch of water, they are generally called ferries.
