Making questions...

Hello everyone,
this may be a silly question but I'm a little confused so I have to ask!

Can I make this question like this:
Where did you go to on holiday 2 years ago?

instead of:
Where did you go on holiday 2 years ago?

or is only the second one right?

Thanks in advance!

Both sentences are okay. The one with "go to" would imply much more interest and enthusiasm on the part of the speaker - the speaker is really interested in where you went on holiday. The addition of the word "to" enhances the rhythm of the sentence and makes it more lively-sounding.

Nice, I asked because some of my friends said it would be wrong if you make that question like that. Now it's clear to me.

Thanks again.
