Making memories alive

When somebody or a situation causes you to recall a past event, how do you express it?
For example,
Seeing her son would make her husband's memories alive.
What do you say instead of 'making alive"?
Is there any other expression?
Is "making alive" right?

I personally would say "bring back memories" or "bring it all back". Your sentence sounds strange to me because you try to connect her seeing her son with her husband's memories, which is kind of weird.
