Making marmalade is just as easy as ABC. Moreover, this kind of dishes helps us to save time. It just need a couple of steps then it will be done and we can use it whenever we want to.
First, you need to choose a good quality of oranges. I would prefer you the Australian naval oranges since they are well known in producing great oranges. It is important to choose oranges with a good quality because I am very sure that you will not want your marmalade expires quite very soon. Before you go to the next step, wash the oranges thoroughly with water to remove all traces of dirt.
Secondly, peel the skin by using a peeler then cut them into long, thin rinds and do not forget to remove the seeds. After you have done all these, squeeze the juice into a bowl. You may use a pair of gloves as you know those oranges are acidic and may hurt your skin.
Thirdly, mix the juice and the peels with white sugar according to taste. If you do not want it to be so sweet then just add less sugar. It is up to you. After that, place the mixture into a pot and cook it under a slow heat.
After a few minutes, add a spoon of pectin to thicken the mixture and leave it cool. Then pour the jam into pre-strelised container and seal the mouth and now we are one step left to make a marmalade. Refrigerate it for one night and it will last for several months.
