hi, can sb tell me what's the difference between making and taking notes?

Hi, There's no big difference. To me, 'taking notes' can suggest that I am getting information from eg a speaker.. If I were reading a book, I'd usually say 'making notes'.

If I were reading a book, I'd usually say 'making notes'.
