Making a question without auxiliary verb

Hello
I just read these sentences:
The pacific ocean has a larger surface than all the dry land on earth.

Most of the water goes directly back into the sea.

And I want to make a question for them.
Which ones are correct:
What does have a larger surface than all the dry land on earth?
How much water does go directly back into the sea?
OR
What has a larger surface than all the dry land on earth?
How much water goes directly back into the sea?

Is auxiliary verb needed in those sentences? if not, why?

Many Thanks

Penicillin What does have a larger surface than all the dry land on earth? How much water does go directly back into the sea? This is my approach and grammatical opinion: This particular context of your sentence doesn't needs an aux.

Penicillin- Which country are you from?

Is it correct?
Yes. country is not the subject. It's the object of the preposition from.

(You are from which country?)

Therefore, after bringing the question phrase (which country?) to the beginning, you have to invert you are to are you.
