Make Vs Made ?

Maybe example sentences will help, as these all have to do with time frames.

You made me come here even though you knew I did not want to.

You make me come here every day, even though you know I would prefer not to.

You have made me come here every day for the past week even though you knew I needed to go to the library to work on my research paper.

You made me come here This is Simple Past tense, referring to an event at some point in the past.

eg You made me come here yesterday at 4pm.

You make me come here This is Simple Present tense, referring to someone's present routine/ habit / schedule, ie something that happens repeatedly.

eg You make me come here every day.

I must admint that i have a very poor knowledge when using have & had in a sentense.

So how about had & have?

Have and had...

Have is present tense and had is past tense.

Examples in sentences:

I have a lovely little tri-colored Corgi male that I adopted from a rescue group.

I had a tri-colored Corgi female who died in January.

Have means that I currently possess the dog in question.

Had means that I did possess the dog

As noted, these are Perfect tenses.

Let me offer simpler and clearer examples.



Present Perfect

Mary has cooked dnner.

She did it at some unspecified time in thte past. The fact has some importance iin the present situation. eg I have cooked dinner.

Good explanation and suggestion, Clive. I'm sorry--I may have misunderstood what he was asking in his second query. I thought he was asking about the present and past tense of the verb "to have." I didn't realize he was asking about the perfect tenses.
